Recent data released at the 7th East Asia Summit on Clean Energy Forum reveals significant progress in power connectivity between China and ASEAN. To date, the two sides have built 16 cross-national power interconnection lines, collaborating on more than 190 power generation and grid projects with a total investment exceeding $92 billion.
Particularly noteworthy is that their cumulative electricity trade has surpassed 75 billion kWh, with green electricity accounting for over 90% of this volume, highlighting the green and low-carbon trend of regional energy cooperation. Looking ahead, with ASEAN's target to raise its renewable energy share to 45% by 2030, there is substantial potential for collaboration in areas like energy storage and smart grids, which are becoming new engines driving the regional energy transition.
